Electromagnets at Westwood

Electromagnets at Westwood
Electromagnets at WestwoodThe Science Lab's 8th graders at Westwood made electromagnets using batteries, copper wire, nails, and safety pins. Students varied the number of coils, which changed the strength of the electromagnet. And for those of us who haven't a clue, an electromagnet is a temporary magnet only becoming magnetized when electricity is passing through it. All the students were very excited about their electric success!
